TO END CANCER
Over the past decade, Curebound's signature community event, Padres Pedal the Cause, has raised $24.5 million for innovative cancer research and united thousands of people with one goal: to end cancer. Building on this strong foundation, we are excited to announce that starting this year, Padres Pedal the Cause will expand and become the Curebound Cancer Challenge with all new coastal routes and more ways to get involved in San Diego's fight against cancer.
Here's what you can look forward to in 2025:
WAYS TO
PARTICIPATE
We challenge ourselves in honor of loved ones who are impacted by cancer and turn our passion into fundraising to accelerate research with the power to save lives. Join us.
RIDE
Ride the beautiful San Diego coastline on one of our three cycling courses: 25, 55 and 75 miles.
WALK
Scenic 5K for all ages and abilities. Individuals, families, and teams are welcome to go at their own pace and take a big stride toward ending cancer.
RUN
Introducing the new Curebound 10K Run – a beautiful scenic route from UC San Diego’s La Jolla campus with ocean views and a celebratory finish on RIMAC Field. With every mile we are closer to cures.
SPIN
Fun and motivational 50-minute spin classes by San Diego’s most popular instructors! An awesome way to get your weekend workout and support cancer research at the same time.
KIDS CHALLENGE
Kids ages 3-12 can join the fun at the Kids Zone. Children and teens are also welcome to participate in the 5K with a registered parent/guardian.
VIRTUAL
If you can’t join us in person, join the fight against cancer virtually.
VOLUNTEER
Lend your time and talents as a volunteer on event weekend.

Knowing you are making a significant contribution to save lives is the best reward, but a little recognition never hurts. When you meet key fundraising milestones, you’ll earn gifts to reward your efforts. Curebound Challengers wear or use their gifts with pride all year long – sharing our mission with everyone they meet.
Starting in June, we'll post the leaderboard to celebrate individual and team fundraising progress.
