Join us on April 9th for a celebration of survivorship and cancer cures!
Padres Pedal the Cause is Curebound’s signature event, bringing together thousands of participants each year to raise money for collaborative cancer research. Hosted in partnership with the SD Padres, "Pedal" is San Diego’s most impactful fundraising experience with over $15 million raised to date to fund 78 innovative research grants in all types of cancer.
You will be inspired by the energy and passion of the Pedal community made up of survivors, families & friends, doctors, scientists, children and volunteers – all of whom are determined to see cures in our lifetime.
100% of every dollar raised funds life-saving cancer research.
Meet our 2022 Featured Fighters - members of our community who have inspired others with their courage, warmth, and dedication to creating a world without cancer. Take a moment to hear their stories...
“We’re riding for Stacey. But we’re really riding for everyone.”
Loving, courageous, strong and real – Stacey and Rick have inspired so many people to stand up and help be part of the cure. Team Race for Stace, created by their children Aubrey and Andrew Valencia, is now leading the charge as the top fundraising team for Padres Pedal 2022.
“Everything you were planning on, everything you were doing – it just stops. And it’s a long road." – Anjuli Timmer
When Caden was diagnosed with cancer for the first time at just ten years old, he fought back hard and with the help of his care team at Rady Children’s Hospital, went cancer free for five years. When the cancer returned last fall, Caden’s courage and optimism have helped his whole family navigate a treatment plan that now includes CAR-T Cell therapy that has put him into remission.
“As I’m riding in Del Mar, and I’m struggling – I just want to quit.My buddy Nick reminded me: This is nothing compared to what a cancer patient is going through, whether it’s radiation or chemo. So stop complaining and start pedaling. I’ll never forget him saying that to me.” – Ryan Thorvaldsen
For years, the San Diego Padres have been leaders in the fight against cancer, hosting our annual event at their beautiful ballpark and giving Padres Pedal the Cause a home base. Each year, the Padres open their doors to thousands of cancer fighters, friends and family to gather at Petco Park in celebration of progress and hope.
“Every Padres employee has their own cancer story to tell,” said Chris Connolly, Chief Marketing Officer.“Everyone has been impacted by cancer.”
Pedal one of our four cycling courses in honor of someone you love who’s life has been changed by cancer. Choose from 25, 55, 88 and 100 miles. All rides go out over the Coronado Bridge!
Join us for a scenic 5K in downtown San Diego and finish on the field at Petco Park. Whether you run or walk, individuals, families and teams are all welcome to go at their own pace and take a first step toward ending cancer.
The best spin of your life in this inspirational setting! Join us for rooftop spinning atop the historic Western Metal Supply Co. building overlooking Petco Park downtown San Diego. Motivational rides by SD’s most popular teachers + incredible music by the Pedal DJ make these 50 minute spin classes an awesome way to support cancer research.
Padres Pedal the Cause is founded on the deep-seated belief that cures are possible; that cancer is curable. With the knowledge that each small finding leads to a larger discovery and then one day, a breakthrough. Though the road may be long and the uphill climb may be steep, every mile brings us closer to cures.
